The Palette
“almost nothing in it. just three colors and some restraint.”
“A wide, quiet sky above an Italian coast at golden hour.”
I started this painting wanting to do almost nothing — just a wash of sky and a band of warm light over the water. The cliffs on the right anchored it, but the painting is really about the sky. It's the simplest piece in the collection and probably my favourite for that reason.
