Gusteau belonged to a friend. He had three settings — sleeping, eating, and rolling around in his cat-shaped ball at three in the morning. This painting is about ninety percent affection and ten percent the absurdity of a hamster being ferried around in a tiny plastic cat. The wood-grain of the floor took longer than the hamster did.
